Chairman | Architectural engineer
Since Michael went to Lesvos for the first time in 2018, he was destined to make a real impact in the world. Since then, he gathered his own groups of volunteers to realize multiple projects for children. With his strong spirit, he is one of the driving figures behind the foundations of ONE.
Michael is an architectural engineer with an MSc degree from the TU Delft. He is a specialist in the psychological and physiological impact of architecture on our well-being, mood regulation and brain development.
Secretary & Treasurer | Timber Structural Engineer
Niels Hofstee is a visionary structural engineer and Co-founder of Office for the New Earth. While working for pioneering engineering firms he embodied a mission is transform his industry developing tools for parametric and responsive design that liberate the design process for the sake of elevating Well-being. Driven by his heart, he now designs and builds fantastic structures for children that trigger playfulness and expand the imagination.
Niels is a civil engineer with a MSc degree from the TU Delft. He has worked as an engineer on a great variety of projects over the past couple of years through multiple offices. Thereby, he secures the safety and stability for all upcoming projects.

Nuria Muñoz Arce is an award-winning biophilic design and well-being consultant, founder of the Habitarmonia Ecosystem and Academy, and a visionary educator transforming the built environment. Specializing in integrating sustainability and well-being into architecture, her innovative interior design projects have earned her prestigious recognition. Through initiatives like her 12-week Biophilic Design course and Collective Harmonia Masterminds, she empowers architects and designers to create nature-connected, health-focused spaces. Passionate about opening minds to new perspectives, Nuria combines theory and practical strategies to help professionals craft meaningful, impactful designs that enhance both human and environmental well-being.
Founder The Green Room | Landscape Architect
Charlie Ray is the founder of The Green Room Landscape Architecture in Phoenix, Arizona. Born and raised in Arizona, he brings a rare sensitivity to the Sonoran Desert and its living ecology.
His work is rooted in a deep understanding of place, microclimate, horticulture, and atmospheres. Through carefully composed landscapes of cactus, creosote, salvaged specimen trees, shade, water, texture, and habitat, Charlie creates outdoor environments that feel both naturalistic and deeply connected to architecture. His landscapes invite people to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the desert as a rich, sensory, and life-supporting environment.
Founder of Design for Blooming | PhD & Architect
Daiana Zamler is an architect, researcher, and founder of Design for Blooming, an organization that bridges science and design to provide architects, designers, and changemakers with practical tools to create spaces that support holistic health and wellbeing.
With a PhD focused on translating theories from environmental psychology and neuroscience into evidence-based design strategies, she developed an assessment model that integrates these insights with behavioral psychology, biophilic design, salutogenesis, and other scientific approaches to strengthen the parasympathetic, restorative state.Her mission is to make scientific knowledge both accessible and actionable for practitioners, honoring people and expanding their opportunities to thrive through design.
Neuropsychologist | Researcher | Developer
The healthcare setting can be quite overwhelming. While working as a neuropsychologist in elderly care, Heleen began dreaming about environments that better support both residents and healthcare professionals. Places that offer a sense of safety and foster connection with nature, including ourselves and the people around us.
Driven by this vision, she started learning about neuroarchitecture and biophilic design. Combining new knowledge with a background in neuropsychology (PhD and clinical work), she focuses on thoughtful spatial design to positively influence mental health and general wellbeing.
At ONE, she found a shared vision and is happy to contribute to the development of healing spaces within healthcare.
Co-Founder Terrapin Bright Green | Author & Designer
Bill Browning is a co-founder of Terrapin Bright Green and one of the leading voices in biophilic and sustainable design. Together with Catie Ryan, he helped shape the renowned 14 Patterns of Biophilic Design, now expanded into 15 Patterns, a widely used framework within the evidence-based design community.
His work explores how nature-connected environments can support human health, well-being, and ecological resilience. Through research, strategy, and collaboration with international partners, Bill has helped translate biophilic design from theory into practice across architecture, real estate, and urban development.

Daan Molkenboer is co-founder of StroBOX, a Dutch company developing modular and circular building systems with straw as a local, natural, and renewable material.
Together with StroBOX, Daan works toward a smarter and more regenerative way of building. Their system combines prefabrication, bio-based materials, technical precision, and social entrepreneurship to create healthy, comfortable, and energy-efficient homes.

Saskia Schoolland is a psychologist specializing in psychotrauma, and has extensive international experience. During her work in the slums of Rio de Janeiro and refugee camps in the Middle East, the Netherlands, Greece and Cyprus, she discovered the power of adding beauty to an environment. When you add beauty to an environment, you create a sense of value and recognition, making people feel seen and welcome.
With this vision, she likes to contribute to ONE and to building special, beautiful playgrounds where children are given the space to play carefree again and be themselves.

From a young age, Anne has always had a strong sense of justice and has been driven by a desire to make a difference. She views the world with an open mind and always believes in the inherent goodness of people. Her journey to make a real impact in the world led her to ONE, where she is deeply committed to the foundation’s mission and the profound dedication of its two founders.
Anne works as a legal advisor in an academic hospital and previously practised as a solicitor for over 7 years. With her knowledge and experience, she is honoured and happy to contribute to ONE in her role as Chair of the Supervisory Board.

From the very start Marianne has been defining the mission of the Organization. With a background in somatic trauma psychology, and child education she brings decades of knowledge into the art of creating healing spaces for the children.
Further, from a background in theology, she teaches us the intrinsic value of running an organization from a place of selflessness and the connection to higher ideal that connects us through our hearts.
